Girls Night!

We had a much needed GIRLS NIGHT last Friday. It was so much fun! We went to dinner at Roosters, then to see Mamma Mia~ oh, and girls, I now have the soundtrack for anyone who needs a copy. ;) We need to do this more often.

JACK JOHNSON!!!

Chad and I went to the Jack Johnson concert last night. What was that? A night alone, without kids? That's right~ thanks, Mom! Let me start by telling you how much I love Jack Johnson. He is my man! (Sorry, Chad!)

Seriously, he is the best. I know these pictures aren't very good, but I only had my phone so this was the best I could do. But we had awesome seats~ 8th row! You could see facial expressions and everything (but not in these photos!). He is beautiful!

This was the 4th time we have seen him at Usana and each time it keeps getting better. (Did I mention that I love him?) I feel like a roadie~ I could follow him around the globe. ;) The only problem is that when I listen to his music, it makes me want to sit on the beach and drink a margarita. Why isn't real life like that?

Ok, I have to share this funny story. I took a picture of this girl's hair because we kind of have the same style and I liked the way hers sat in the back. (Girls are funny, aren't we?) Mind you, I wasn't particularly loving my hair this day so you know, always looking for ways to improve. Well, about 10 minutes later I get a tap on my shoulder, and there is a girl, two rows behind me who wants to take a picture of my hair! Ha ha... at least I'm not the only one. And it's always good to get a compliment, especially when I was having an off day. So thanks, Abby, for giving me a "picture worthy" 'do! :)

Bear Lake

We went to Bear Lake last weekend with some friends. It was my first time there. So much fun! It was great because 1. there was a lot of beach and 2. the water wasn’t too deep so the kids could play and we could relax in the shade. The kids had a lemonade stand (which was a project in itself!) and made a killing. Who can resist little girls and lemonade? The next day we had a “fashion show” and the kids really got into it. They paraded around the cabin, marching and playing music. It was really cute. Poor Chanon~ the only boy with six girls. What a trooper. He’s going to be quite the ladies man! ;)

Aydin's 1st Day of School

Aydin started kindgergarten today! Her school is year round, so they started a little bit earlier than expected. I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast! She wasn't even scared or sad.

Nat and Iyla met us there for breakfast.

Aydin, Me and Iyla

'Bye, Mom!

I didn't get to take her into the classroom (they said it's easier for the kids if the parents stay outside), so the only picture I got of her inside is through the window (like the blinds?). You should have seen all of us parents~ watching them through the glass like animals in the zoo. ;) Why is it so hard to let go?

Is that Hannah Montana?

Here is Aydin watching the Hannah Montana 3-D concert. A star in the making! ;)

Girls and Butterflies

The girls caught a butterfly last night while they were running through the sprinklers.

They were so excited! They love nature, especially bugs and butterflies. Kenna thinks she can keep them all, so we have a tough time convincing her to let them go.

Who knew for being such girly girls, they'd love to get so dirty. Oh well, best of both worlds, right? ;)

Oh, and try not to pay too much attention to Aydin's poor face~ I don't beat her, I promise! ;) She took a pretty good fall off her bike. Didn't stop her from getting right back on though. She's one tough kid!

What a Week

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

It's Friday! The end of another crazy week! Finally closed some loans we have been working on for a while, so that was good. Not to say it didn't come without some tremendous headaches. ;)

Highlights~ I started blogging, thats been fun. Probably going to be one of my hobbies from here on out. Which is good; I like to catch up and it forces me to stop and smell the flowers from time to time. Funny how you can suddenly find more and more stuff to write about as you go, rather than trying to put about a hundred thoughts from over the years together in a single sitting.

Now the week is over and I couldn't be more glad! I'm taking Aydin school shopping Saturday. I can't believe she's going to be in kindergarten! The years have gone by so fast. My baby is growing up! We recently tested her for an extended learning program, and I was asked to site some examples of how she excels past her years. Well, if you have a two minute conversation with her you'll notice she is like talking to a 30 year old trapped in a 5 year old body! ;) So, of course on the spot it was hard for me to come up with specific examples, but over the last few days I've been able to put some together. Might have to start a spot on the blog just for "Aydinisms".

Chads Artwork

Slideshow

Photography is a big part of Chad's life. He takes the most amazing pictures. Mostly landscapes, but he does a variety of everything. I am so proud of his work. For Christmas, I put together a portfolio of some of his favorites. I couldn't fit them all, but here is a view of some of his black and whites. He has a gift for capturing beauty in some of the most peculiar places.
